INGREDIENTS: Soybean oil, red peppers, salt, ground turmeric, sugar, herbs and spices, mace, mustard, cumin, pepper, coriander.
Preparation method:
1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add onion and spice paste, stir fry for 2 minutes 2
2. Add meat, stir fry 5 minutes. Lower the heat, stir in water and yogurt, bring to a boil
3. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Lift the lid and simmer for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the meat is tender and the gravy is thick. Stir occasionally.
Cooking Tips:
a. If chicken meat is used, follow step 1 above. Add chicken, stir fry for 3 minutes. Reduce heat, stir in 1 cup (220 ml) water and 1/2 cup (110 ml) yogurt and bring to a boil. Simmer uncovered for 15-20 minutes. Stir every now and then
b. For a richer taste, add 3 tbsp tomato puree
c. Instead of lamb, beef, lentils or vegetables can be used.
