Another week, another adventure! Hello hello, how’s your own food adventure going? I hope you’re having lots of fun this week.

Recently, I was scouring through the internet to find more interesting foods, and it didn’t take me long to find one! Its name is Nasi Lemak from Malaysia!

You might be asking what’s so interesting about nasi lemak, but let me tell you this. How can it be not interesting when the food is so simple yet so heartwarming for many Malaysians? The food and its similar variants can be found in neighboring countries like Indonesia, Singapore, and Brunei, but even so it holds a special place for Malaysians. So special that Malaysians consider it as their national food!

It really is a wonder to me, because like I’ve said, the food itself is very simple. It’s made from rice cooked in coconut milk, most of the time they use pandan leaves to make it smell more fragrant, sliced cucumbers, boiled egg, roasted peanuts, and fried anchovies. Then traditionally it is served on top of banana leaves.

If it’s not enough, you can add more side dishes like fried chicken, rendang, or veggies. Simple, right? And easy to make too!

Ahh, now I’m hungry for some nasi lemak… I’m going to grab some fresh anchovies and other things to make one now, I’ll wait for you at Toko Gembira!

Best regards, Gembira

Here to make your soul happy!
