Fufu from Africa

Fufu from Africa

Can you guess what kind of dish this is? The clue is that it's not a Bakpao; it's not from Asia. Ha!

Ready to learn another culture?
This time, let me introduce you to African food. It's called Fufu. It's a starchy food made from cassava, yams, or plantain. In Asia, you eat your dishes with rice. But in Africa, you can eat them with Fufu. So, basically, you can dip it into sauces or eat it with stews of meat, fish, or vegetables.

There are two ways to make Fufu: traditional methods and instant methods. Gembira has Mama's choice of Fufu Mix Plantain. Yes, it contains real plantain inside, and it's super easy to cook. You need just boiled water and a pan. Pour the mix into it and stir it until blended.

If you are from Africa, please help us to share more about your dishes.
Let's celebrate food and culture.

Do you know that authentic food is a remedy for homesickness?

Cheers,
Gembira!
